Be Intentional about your Bible reading...
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the expanse proclaims His handiwork.” Psalm 19:20
The desire of God is to be our God and we His people (Psa 95:7) God wants us to know Him and uses the Bible, His Word as a primary part of that relationship.
God has a plan for your life and in order for you to fulfill your purpose, we have to know God’s will.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jer 29:11
Your Bible reading plan should be intimately related to your walk with God.
So... What is YOUR plan ?
This is the “random chance” plan to FLOP the Bible down, FLIP open a page, and PICK a verse…
Read through the full Bible, new testament, Psalms, proverbs, or old testament over a defined period of time. (read in order or chronlogically)
Focus on a particular Book and read it from beginning to end
Reading the account(s) of a specific person or group of people. (Sometimes throughout several books)
Reading by Topics such as; Spiritual Growth, Wisdom, Healing, Prayer, Marriage, Holy Spirit, etc… (read through out books of the Bible)
Reading specific scriptures related to circumstance impacting your life. (reading throughout the books of the Bible)
Intentionally Commit...
Set a time each day to read and “commit” to journaling including the date. Use the journal for a Weekly review.
Join the Bible reading program at church. Post the one scripture that touched you that week. (see S.O.A.P.)
From small group to class, there is a common focus to share your study with. Ask one another what was your verse?
We all have someone close that we can share that special scripture with. This may be your spouse, counselor, teacher or best friend.
Starting your walk today...
“The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”Psa 145:18
In these times we need the truth more than ever and have to walk closer to our God. How shall we know the truth, unless we know our God? It all starts with reading the Word of God, our Bible.
Be intentional today, while is still is today…
” yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”Jas 4:14
